Bank Holiday Blog

Here we are again another Bank Holiday weekend and as usual it’s tipping it down with rain! What’s a dog to do? Well it’s a good time to catch up on my (rather lax) blogging. It has been a while since I last wrote but I have not been totally idle (well maybe just a bit idle!). I have been out and about & I’ve been on my holidays. I went to the other side of Wokingham where I stayed with friends for a week. I had a lovely time. Mum and Dad went to Norway for a week (wherever that is). I think they had a nice time but it was rather wet for some of it – oh well each to their own I suppose!

I have spent a bit of time on my boat. We went out last weekend and the weather was lovely. Here I am relaxing with dad.

And here I am thinking something good might come my way if I smile nicely  🙂

However what a difference a week makes! The plan was to take my boat out for the whole three day weekend. However that plan got altered when we realised that the nice sunny Sunday we were going to get was likely to be topped and tailed by a rather wet Saturday and Monday. In the end the thoughts of cold cruising and wet dog walks didn’t appeal to mum and dad so we stayed at home. As it was I think that was the right choice because Saturday and Monday did turn out to be quite wet dog walks so it’s good to have access to a plentiful supply of dry towels!

We did go out ‘en- famile’ (a bit of French there for you) on Sunday for a nice long walk. We went to the Whitewater River (as opposed to the Backwater River – which I also frequent from time to time). It was a good walk where I was able to run free and bound around – this surprised mum and dad because I don’t really tend to bound around that much but somehow the long grass between my toes had me hopping around like a gazelle for a while. (Just a short while because actually gazelle hopping is quite tiring it turns out – who knew  😕 ) Anyway I did have fun. Here are a few photos of me out and about. Firstly on a little bridge

And then in the rather nicely mowed footpaths

And this is when I was doing the gazelle bit but you can’t really tell (spot the tail)

Finally me leading the way through the footpaths back to the car.

I have to say you do see some strange things on these walks and look what we came across this time – these little fellas were lying in the sun doing a bit of general grunting when we came along.

They were very friendly chaps and dad gave them a bit of a tickle.

They didn’t seem to mind me but mum decided I shouldn’t get too close just in case they decided to take a dislike to me. Can’t think why – I think I’d quite like a pet pig 🙂

When we got home mum and dad did a bit of work in the garden and I got a bone. It was a very nice bone and I tackled it with gusto. However I am regretting it slightly today because I think the rich bone had given me a bit of a gippy tummy! It’s not really bothering me but mum and dad are paying the price if you get my drift!

Anyway that brings us back to the rather wet bank holiday Monday. We have been lazing around all day and just doing local (wet) walks. Still it’s nice and relaxing so I can’t complain. It plays to my strengths as I have perfected the art of being idle

Hope you had a lovely bank holiday weekend dear reader.

Love
